For many, STBVs are a vital component of their operations, allowing them to access specialist skills quickly or negotiate important contracts overseas. With the UK introducing Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) this year and with post COVID business travel resuming for many, join Ben Sheldrick (Managing Partner) and Joanne Taylor (Partner) from Magrath Sheldrick LLP to discuss important Immigration considerations for those in Global Mobility and HR.
STBVs are currently an area of significant HMRC focus. HMRC view the reporting of STBVs as a common area of non-compliance by companies with an international footprint as payroll, HR and mobility teams frequently find it challenging to know whether STBVs should be included on a Short-Term Business Visitor Agreement, a special annual STBV payroll or a normal payroll. Andy Kelly (Tax Partner) and Purni Makh (Associate Director) from BDO will address the key tax issues that companies face in relation to their STBVs.
