Spotlight on EMEA Series: Brazil

In this post on Brazil we focus on the introduction of visa requirements for Australian, Canadian and US passport holders.

From 10 April 2024 the Brazilian Government will reintroduce visa requirements for holders of US, Australian and Canadian passports who wish to visit Brazil for tourism or business purposes.  Services have been outsourced to the company, VFS Global and applications can be filed online.  It is anticipated that processing times may take around five days to be completed and individuals should plan well ahead of any proposed trip to Brazil.

It appears that the rationale for the introduction of the visa requirements is aligned to a reciprocity policy as the countries mentioned still require Brazilian nationals to hold visas in order to enter the respective countries for tourism or business.
