The Authorities in the UAE have introduced specific processes to support affected residents and entry permit holders who have faced travel issues and disruption beyond their control, due to the ongoing Middle East crisis. All processes are subject to review and approval on a case by case basis but it should be noted:
- Expired Entry Permits (60‑Day Validity)
For individuals who were issued a UAE entry permit but were unable to enter the country within the standard 60‑day validity period due to travel restrictions or operational challenges:
- The authorities allow for entry permit re‑issuance/extension in specific circumstances.
- Each case is assessed individually and is subject to immigration approval.
Supporting documentation and a clear explanation of the delay are typically required.
- Residence Visa Holders Outside the UAE for Over 180 Days
For UAE residence visa holders who have remained outside the UAE for more than 180 consecutive days:
- A re‑entry permit application may be submitted to request permission to return to the UAE without cancelling the existing residence visa.
- Each case is assessed individually and is subject to immigration approval.
- Supporting documentation and a clear explanation of the delay are typically required.
Once approved, re‑entry must occur within the validity period specified by the authorities (usually 15-30 days).
