Spotlight on APAC Series: New Zealand

1 mins read 12/06/2024

In our spotlight on the APAC series, we round up the latest developments across the Asia Pacific. In this post, we look at the update on Prioritisation of Green List AEWV Application by Immigration New Zealand.

New Zealand – Accredited Employer Work Visa Application Prioritized for Green List Occupations

Immigration New Zealand is prioritizing Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) applications for Green List occupations, which are high-demand roles facing shortages. This aims to fast-track the hiring process for essential positions, helping manage labour shortages. Despite this prioritization, standard processing times for other AEWV applications remain unchanged, at least six weeks per application stage.

Additionally, this prioritization benefits employers by providing quicker access to skilled workers, increasing productivity, and minimizing disruption. The government also focuses on facilitating the entry of highly skilled workers to support economic growth. Further changes to the AEWV program are expected to be introduced progressively.
