Slovenia – Digital Nomad Visa

Following in the footsteps of a number of other European countries (Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Greece, Germany for example), Slovenia looks set to introduce a Digital Nomad Visa in November 2025 enabling remote works to live and work in the country for 12 months.

What to consider:

• This one-year permit allows non-EU/EEA nationals working for foreign companies to reside in Slovenia.  

• The visa is non-extendable but can be applied for again after a period of six months has lapsed (a six month break outside of Slovenia).

• Applicants must be employed by a company outside Slovenia or be a contractor or freelancer working for a foreign business.  Additionally, a self-employed applicant providing services to clients outside Slovenia may also apply.

• Family members may join the main applicant but cannot work locally.

• Applicants must demonstrate enough income to support themselves throughout their stay.
