Spotlight on APAC Series: Australia

1 mins read 12/06/2024

In our spotlight on APAC series, we round up the latest developments from across Asia Pacific. In this post, we take a look at the changes set for the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) in Australia.

With effect from 01 July 2024, the TSMIT will be increased to AUD $73,150 from $70,000. Employers are required to meet this new threshold amount, or the annual market salary rate, whichever is the higher of the two.

The change will impact the following visa categories:

  • Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) visa
  • Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) visa via Direct Entry Stream only
  • Employer Sponsored Regional-SC494 Visa

Existing visa/nominations that were filed prior to 01 July 2024 will not be impacted by the new requirement.
