Applications under the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) gathered pace in September 2019 with an additional 520,600 applications received by the Home Office. Overall the total number of applications received up to 30 September 2019 was more than 1.8 million. This increase in applications is most likely a consequence of the uncertainty in Parliament and the possibility of a no-deal Brexit outcome.
iPhone launch app
The “EU Exit: ID Document Check” app, which allows applicants applying under the EUSS to verify their identity documents and submit a photo of themselves is finally available for iPhone users.
Since its launch in March 2019, the app was previously only available for Android phone users. Although this is good news for applicants with iPhones, the app is only available for iPhone 8 or newer models and applicants with iPhone 7 or 7 Plus will be able to access the app by using iOS 13.1 software. Applicants who may have older iPhones will not be able to download the app.
