British Citizens Working in Europe
EUROPE 2021
British Citizens Working in Europe
WEBINAR 15 OCTOBER 2020 AT 2PM
On 31 December 2020 the United Kingdom will leave the EU single market. As a consequence, British citizens will no longer benefit from freedom of movement across the remaining EU27 states (with the exception of the Republic of Ireland). This constitutes the most significant alteration to the rights of British citizens in Europe for a generation.
Freedom of movement provides European Union citizens with the right to cross EU borders to work, study, establish businesses or retire. From 1 January 2021, British citizens wishing to reside in the EU, other than for short term visit purposes, will require permission to do so under the rules and regulations that apply in their country of destination.
British businesses and their employees must prepare for the enormity of the changes ahead.
In this webinar, Ben Sheldrick and Kerry Hough will discuss these immigration challenges for British business with leading business immigration lawyers from across Europe. They will be joined by:
Karl Waheed from France
Dieter Kohlfurst from Germany
Marco Mazzeschi from Italy
Pierre Elvinger from Luxembourg
Kirsty Gies from the Netherlands
This webinar is an essential opportunity for businesses to begin to prepare for the legal challenges faced by British citizens wishing to work in Europe in 2021 and beyond.
The webinar is brought to you in association with our colleagues at Expat-Academy.
It also provides 2 GMPD points for members of MyGMPD.
