Lucy works within the UK immigration department and supports both Corporate and Private clients navigate the multiple visa categories and residence routes in the UK.

She joined the team as a NQ Solicitor in June 2014 and currently sits within the Management Team as a Senior Associate, specialising in UK Business immigration and employee-related immigration.

Lucy enjoys working closely with Global Mobility teams and HR personnel to provide them with up-to-date guidance in an ever-changing landscape, supporting them with mobility planning aligned with their business needs.

She assists companies with their initial sponsor licence applications and provides ongoing support and guidance in relation to their sponsor obligations, which includes ensuring robust processes are in place for compliant right-to-work practices; supporting teams to ensure processes are in place to enable suitable monitoring of sponsored employees; and that relevant reporting is captured with the Home Office. She supports companies with Home Office Audits and offering Mock Audits and Health-Checks to ensure businesses stay on top of the compliance piece under the Skilled Worker visa route.

Lucy also advises and supports individuals and families with their Skilled Worker and Global Business Mobility visas, as well as supporting applicants across the spectrum of categories, which includes but not limited to, the Temporary Workers, Graduates, UK Ancestry, Settlement and Family etc.

Lucy has many years of experience supporting Private Clients with applications to become British Citizens under the British Nationality Act 1981. She really enjoys the history behind the Nationality Act and conducting historic status tracing to understand if an individual has a path to registration, which can often derive through generations and colony links to the UK. She also supports applicants with discretionary submissions for citizenship and really enjoys working with applicants to build their cases for consideration by the Nationality Team; finally supporting individuals with their British passport applications – submissions from overseas or from within the UK.

In addition to her legal practice, Lucy has a strong passion for training and development. She enjoys creating and presenting tailored training sessions for both clients and internal teams. Most recently, she has worked with colleagues to join the discussion on developing interpersonal skills and encouraging colleagues to take the time to reflect and consider ways to enhance these skills.  For clients, she designs training sessions designed to empower clients with the knowledge and skills they need to ensure they are up-to-date and evolving their practise to align with Home Office policy.  She enjoys blending her legal expertise with a commitment to continuous learning and sharing knowledge.

Outside of work, Lucy is actively involved in volunteering, which enables her to contribute to her local community. She is currently a Trustee and Chair for her local Pre-School and commits her time to Billericay Town Women’s Football Club in an effort to elevate the women’s game locally but also on an international level by encouraging sister-club affiliations. She enjoys the challenges these commitments bring and the opportunities they bring to meet and collaborate with different people.
