Workplace Mediation

Helping People Move Forward – Constructively with Confidence

From Conflict to Resolution

As an employment lawyer with 25 years’ experience of advising on and litigating workplace disputes, Adele Martins understands how damaging unresolved conflict can be – to individuals, managers, teams, and organisations.

As a CEDR accredited mediator, Adele offers a practical, people centric approach to the resolution of workplace tensions helping parties find constructive solutions, preserving working relationships and avoiding litigation.

Mediation is a confidential, voluntary process that helps people in conflict find a way forward. It’s about creating a space for dialogue, restoring trust, and reaching agreements that all parties can live with — and move on from.

What Is Workplace Mediation?

Mediation is a structured yet flexible process that enables people to resolve issues less formally, more quickly and more cost effectively than lengthy workplace processes or litigation.

It is a dialogue facilitated by an impartial third party — the mediator — aimed at helping those involved explore the root of the conflict and work towards a mutually satisfactory solution.

Unlike a grievance process or tribunal, mediation is not about blame or determining legal rights.  It’s about understanding what matters to the people involved, communicating effectively and finding a way to move forward constructively.

It is useful in a multitude of situations, including where there are personality clashes, grievances / cross grievances, remuneration disputes, allegations of micromanagement or bullying, where internal processes have been exhausted or where litigation seems inevitable.

Why Choose Mediation?

Confidential – What’s discussed in mediation stays private, with limited exceptions.

Voluntary – No one is forced to take part or to agree to anything they’re not comfortable with.

Faster and More Cost-Effective – Compared to formal legal proceedings or protracted workplace dispute processes.

Preserves Relationships – Especially valuable when parties must continue working together.

Flexible and Informal – Tailored to the people, the situation, and the issues at hand.
