Chinney joined Magrath LLP in September 2015 and is currently undertaking his first seat in the Immigration department. He studied law at the University of Hull before completing a postgraduate degree in Competition Law at University College London. Chinney completed the LPC at BPP Law School (Holborn) in 2013.

Prior to joining Magrath LLP, Chinney held a variety of positions, working in-house within legal departments and in private practice at international law firms. Chinney gained litigation experience during his time at The Premier League, where he assisted the legal team in civil enforcement against commercial premises across the country for breaches of The Premier League’s copyright by unauthorised foreign broadcasts of football matches. Chinney also worked as a paralegal at Ofcom where he provided assistance to lawyers on a range of media and telecommunications matters. He gained notable experience at the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in the PayTV dispute between Sky and BT .

Interests

Chinney lived in Brussels for a year working for an international media organisation. He is passionate about sports, and particularly enjoys following football, basketball and athletics. In his spare time, Chinney is an avid Arsenal FC fan, and so is used to managing expectations. His other interests include music, fashion and world cinema.
