Tilly has a wealth of experience and extensive knowledge of both Immigration and compliance issues. Having previously worked for a number of widely recognised law firms, Tilly is regarded as an expert in his field, particularly in relation to developing and implementing corporate immigration strategy.

Tilly’s practice covers all aspects of UK immigration. His client base ranges from start up’s to multinational Plc companies as well as private individuals..

Tilly has a broad experience of Immigration and frequently advises on applications for entry clearance, extensions of stay, switching visa categories, indefinite leave to remain, settlement together with naturalization as British citizens. He advises on business and commercial immigration matters under the Points Based System and has made numerous licence applications for both start up and existing companies. He also regularly carries out compliance audits on behalf of clients and advises on maters which are subject to the Immigration Tribunal

Tilly advises a broad range of corporate clients on all aspects of the Immigration/employee relationship from recruitment to termination. He also advises private individuals such as investors, entrepreneurs, business visitors, students, British citizens, sports personnel, EU citizens and general and family visitors..

Tilly provides in house training and regularly writes articles for the In House Lawyer. He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Nigerian Bar Association and the Immigration Law Practitioners Association.

Notable Recent Experience

  • Advising corporate clients within the financial, IT, Media, Management Consulting, Shipping and Construction Industry on HR processes and compliance in line with the new Immigration rules introduced on 6 April 2011;
  • Carrying out mock audits on behalf of clients and developing processes in order to ensure compliance with the illegal working provisions in the UK;
  • Advising Educational institutions on obtaining Highly Trusted Sponsor status in line with the UK Border Agency’s requirements before 2012;
  • Advising on procedural and strategic issues arising out of the acquisition of migrant worker staff under TUPE;
  • Recently advising an Entrepreneur on acceptable finance of over £200,000 to enable him enter the UK to set up a business in the UK;
  • Advising a number of high profile individuals on the recent changes to Immigration and providing solutions to how this may affect their stay in the UK;

    In his spare time Tilly enjoys swimming, watching his favourite team Arsenal and also has a huge interest in African politics.
