Georgina heads the Property Department and specialises in all aspects of commercial and residential premises. Her practice area covers acquisitions, sales, financing, planning, development, landlord and tenant matters and corporate related property transactions.

Her experience includes acting for a major shopping centre owner in the letting and management of a number of regional shopping centres including turnover rent leases and development related advice; acting for Housing Associations in development acquisitions including construction documentation, conditional contracts, infrastructure and planning agreements; acting for investors in the acquisition and sale of residential, commercial and mixed use premises. She has advised on office, industrial, cinema, bingo, licensed premises, restaurants and shops. She also acts for high net worth individuals acquiring residential property.

Recent Notable Experience

  • Acted for the UK’s leading shopping centre owner in securing pre-lets with anchor tenants in relation to the development of a major extension to a large regional shopping centre. The units were let on a turnover rent basis at rents of up to £1.5m per annum. Work included negotiating the company’s first new deal with the leading supermarket chain, and agreeing precedent documentation to be rolled out across the client’s portfolio.
  • Acting for tenants across office, industrial, retail and leisure sectors, acquiring leases of up to £700k per annum including the acquisition of head office premises under construction.
  • Negotiating development and construction agreements with national house builders on behalf of various housing associations.
  • Acquiring development numerous sites in Central London, and in rural areas throughout England on behalf of leading housing associations embedding relationships with national house builders and funds in the process, ensuring good future partnerships.
  • Buying and selling businesses as a going concern with an average of 30 tenants per site for an economic development company wholly owned by the 33 London Boroughs, to enable the client to take advantage of market conditions and increase its commercial portfolio.
  • Residential acquisitions and sales (including off-shore share sales) of prime Central London properties for high net worth individuals, including properties with values of over £25m each.
  • Acting for a social housing developer in negotiating and settling the first of a number of funding agreements with a local authority, and embedding the relationship as a result.
  • Advising leading banks in funding the acquisition of mixed use properties in the West End by off-shore companies and high net worth individuals.
  • Negotiating numerous planning gain agreements, and variations of them with local authorities for Registered Social Landlords to secure the entire affordable housing provision available within high profile developments in Greater London.
  • Advising clients on existing and proposed planning conditions and use, including drafting and negotiating agreements for sale conditional upon planning and related matters.
  • Heading a property team to acquire a £220 million group of companies by way of competitive bid.
