Excess £s

At a time when we are all still trying to (1) Lose the extra pounds gained from overindulging during December (and maybe the end of November too) and (2) Save some pounds (Sterling) to pay off the credit card bill…..spare a thought for the law firm which will be justifying its £105M costs bill at the Court of Appeal.   The costs were reported to have been incurred while the firm acted for the Claimants, a rough estimate suggests they represented 30,000 people, in a class action over three years.

It is expected the detailed analysis likely to take place will be the most comprehensive assessment of costs ever put before the courts.  Reading the weighing scales and justifying that last mince pie suddenly seems a lot less daunting than explaining the background to all those noughts on the bill to a Senior Costs Judge.
