Tamara Ecclestone, the socialite daughter of Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has won the latest round in a custody battle against ex boyfriend, Omar Khyami over a rare Lamborghini Aventador in the High Court. This follows on from a first success in February 2013 against another ex boyfriend, Derek Rose who was sentenced to four years’ prison for trying to blackmail her.
In attendance with her current fiancé, Jay Rutland, Tamara heard Mr Justice Warren direct that the car, which she bought for £380,000 in April 2012, should be kept safely in a garage chosen by her lawyers, until a full hearing.
Her counsel, Andreas Gledhill said that, unbeknown to Tamara, Omar had borrowed money from Elite Performance Cars Ltd, from whom Ms Ecclestone had originally bought the car. In order to secure the funds, Omar had given the Lamborghini as security for the loan.
Tamara maintains that she did not give the car to Omar as a birthday present during their relationship which ended in July last year therefore he did not have the authority to secure any loan via the Lamborghini Aventador. Watch this space.
