Business Immigration Conference in Association with British

American Business Inc. (BABI)

21st September 2009

Magrath LLP Immigration Group in association with British American Business Inc. (BABI) is delighted to invite you to join us for a conference on immigration developments in the United Kingdom and the United States on the afternoon of 8th October 2009 at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane.

The introduction of the Points Based System is a revolutionalised process for entry into the United Kingdom for businesses and employment and is the most significant change to the UK immigration control system in 20 years. Major changes to employers' duties and obligations under strict new "Legal Right to Work" laws have created a new compliance structure that employers must follow and implement carefully. In the United States, the change of government and the economic crisis have inspired a new approach to the employment of foreign nationals.

Recent recommendations by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) mean that further changes will be implemented to the Points Based System in the New Year. Additional procedural requirements, including biometric identity cards for foreign nationals, are being introduced.

This conference will address all current issues that apply to the sponsorship of foreign nationals and will deal with the continuing changes that are to be introduced in 2010. It will also be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback to senior directors from the UK Border Agency as well as the US Visa Chief from the US Consulate in London.

Speakers will include;

• Terry Nelson - Deputy Director, Economic and Family Migration Development - UK Border Agency

• Ian Robinson - Deputy Director, Immigration Policy Tier 2 - UK Border Agency

• Rob Carolan - Program Director, Identity Cards for Foreign Nationals (Biometrics) - UK Border Agency

• Charlotte Taylor - International Group - UK Border Agency

• Mark Franks - Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) - Head of Secretariat

• Steve Pattison - Partner at Magrath LLP US Immigration Group
