Too Old to Work in HR

A HR Director recounted a hilarious turn of events during a recent grievance investigation when one of the employees being interviewed attempted to explain how difficult the situation with a colleague had become.  She explained that she did not wish to continue working with the individual and considered leaving but that as she was “pushing 50” she would find it hard to find alternative work.  Before the HRD could get a word in the hapless employee went on to explain that the HRD must understand – after all, if she was to look for another HR role she would find it difficult too.  Thankfully the HRD in question has a sense of humour – and couldn’t resist telling HRspy – who promises not to mention it…………….. (oops!).
