I thought it was “just a driving conviction so I didn’t have to declare it”

Application Form v Background Check.  HR classic – an employee declares no convictions on her application for employment.  A background check revealed she had previously been jailed for six months for 3 separate occasions of driving without a licence or insurance and for giving false details to the police.  Her explanation……… I thought it was “just a driving conviction so I didn’t have to declare it”.
