Compensation Limits from 1 February 2011

The Government has announced that with effect from 1 February 2011:

  • the maximum award for compensation for unfair dismissal will be £68,400 (an increase from the current £65,300); and
  • the cap for a weeks pay (for the purpose of calculating the basic award and redundancy payments etc) will increase from £380 to £400.

The maximum award for unfair dismissal (basic award plus compensatory element) will therefore be £80,400.
